Forgiveness and Transcendence

I managed forgiveness
and it brought me freedom.
I thought that was what I was looking for —
Freedom!
Then I prayed for more understanding.
I received it
and found Freedom!
Perhaps it is all free will
           — that’s the treasure.

Today I want to talk about forgiveness and transcendence – belief and affirmation. Belief is not easy. Your beliefs come into your life at big moments — from authorities and people you trust and love. They stay with you for long periods of time. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make your beliefs right, wrong or permanent. You can choose to change any and all of them at any given time. Affirmations are a wonderful way to help change, as long as you’re open to change. Part of the effectiveness of affirmations is believing they will change you — feeling that they will.

Your brain will trust a new belief if you affirm it often enough. Wanting to ingrain a new concept into your subconscious mind can happen by repeating an affirmation often (the often is the key!), for it is you continually informing your brain and your cells that your new belief is so.

Some typical affirmations can be:

  • I am worthy
  • I love myself
  • I am perfectly capable
  • I am lovable
  • I am safe

They can also be much more specific. You can create any affirmation you want. Once you’ve decided what your affirmations are going to be, repeat them to yourself daily, over and over again. During the morning, when you’re preparing for your day, is a perfect time for the exercise – you’re relaxed, open, energetic and clear. Say each affirmation and with great emphasis; you need to believe it! Choose your language carefully – make sure you’re not vague, insecure or hesitant. The more positive, clear, confident and you you can be, the more effective your affirmation will be. Your brain and cells – your being – will believe what you’re saying if you say it with power.

Steer clear of negative words in your affirmations. Saying, “I’m not afraid” encourages thought regarding fear. Instead, use something more along the lines of “I am totally safe,” or “I am without fear!” Your language is very important. As with praying, affirm the positive wishes as if they were already true.

Re-evaluate your affirmations often, adding new ones, adjusting statements to avoid conflict, etc. The process is fluid and requires consistent attention.

Never forget – you  must TRUST and BELIEVE your affirmations work! If you act as if your affirmation or request is answered/ true, your body is healed, your perfect relationship is here and you’re abundantly present with great GRATITUDE!

A Terminal Experience

I’ve recently discovered the writing community Write on Edge and am absolutely in love! Each week, a moderator posts a prompt for the community to write about – an exercise in imagination and development. This week’s prompt was to write a brief story regarding an experience or centering around an experience in an airport terminal. Below is my first attempt! I hope you enjoy it. I feel like I could go much further into detail, but the time is not yet right!

terminal-1024x682                                                                       -We pass so many strangers on a daily basis. What if some of them mean more?

I got to the gate early. All my check-in rituals had gone well and I’d picked up a fresh bottle of water, as they’d confiscated my first.

I settled into one of the empty seats as my eyes wandered to my travel companions on flight #1744 to Chicago. There was still a line at the desk – two men in business suits and a woman looking well organized and relaxed.

Suddenly the thought went through my mind, “she’s going to sit in the seat beside me.” It was as if a companion sitting nearby leaned in and whispered the fact. But I was traveling alone. No, there was simply a clear, precise, unquestionable knowing. I had no doubts.

Boarding was announced and my clarity was sustained. As I sat down and others boarded, the woman in line became the woman sitting to my right on flight #1744. When we landed, she departed, but he feeling of knowing persisted. The experience came to be the beginning of a journey I had never intended to take…

Why was it important for me to know that detail of where she’d sit? How did it apply to me? What was this powerful clear awareness that was happening to me?

I often found myself intuiting things that were going to happen, but this seemed bigger – more clear than ever before.

Her name was Marge. She was on a business trip. Since I couldn’t resist, I shared my knowing with her just to catch her reaction. She was interested in this clarity of mine, and it and the idea of it ignited great conversation. Yet nothing was revealed that I could grab hold of as explanation as to why I was given this knowledge.

We talked all the way to Chicago. I wondered if she was the reason I had been routed through Chicago with a destination of Florida. My interest was piqued. Contemplating it all, I decided that yes, she was a pleasant travelling companion, but the knowing didn’t apply to our meeting. Perhaps it was practice! Down the aisle came our third row member. She was dragging paper bags, bottles of water, and much more. I experienced no knowing as she approached, but in the midst of our conversation (which revealed so many mutual friends and happenings) I got it; I knew I needed to pay attention. It turned out she had the answer to a long sought out question I had: do we incarnate? I without any doubt knew who she was without question. Marge was practice. Eileen was Truth.

I’m at a Retreat!

Hello Everyone!

I’m so excited to share with you this week that I’m at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in New York for a Visionary Painting intensive seminar with the wonderful Alex and Allyson Grey! I’ll have a full recap of my experience for you all when I return. In the mean time, I’m posting an excerpt from my book – an exercise in being trusting and open! I hope you enjoy; let me know what you think!

Exercise: Being Trusting and Open

The practice of this exercise will be ongoing. You’ve witnessed me in this state throughout this book; that doesn’t mea it isn’t challenging every time.

Your first job is to simplify your life somewhat, for these synchronicities will have no place to enter if you’re always booked. Secondly, it means you have to give up control. If I was bound and determined to go directly to Florida, instead of through Chicago, I would have foiled the universe. Third, open up your thinking to acceptance, accepting the impossible, listening carefully so you’re hearing the details and can connect the dots. Give up texting, or always being on the internet, so you have open time to flow and be present in the moment. This is how the universe can and will connect with you.

I’m sure this is all happening to me because I have some much to learn. But I also think it is happening because I am very accepting and very willing! Stay open – consider the absurd! Be courageous and admit your fears, your questions and what you accept! Do it over and over again and you’ll get really good at knowing what deserves your sacred attention. Practice unitl it is truly a piece of cake.

So to recap:

  • Simplify your life
  • Give up control
  • Open up your mind to acceptance
  • Make time to be present in your life
  • Be accepting and willing to learn
  • Stay open and consider the absurd!
  • Be courageous and admit your fears
  •  Be bold and question things
  • Don’t accept things that don’t fit your heart
  •  Do all of these things consistently

I would LOVE for you to share what you’re discovering!
